DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

  • You dread certain holes before you even arrive.

  • A bad shot follows you for several holes.

  • You apologise for your game before anyone else can.

  • You finish rounds feeling flat instead of fulfilled.

  • You sometimes wonder if you even belong out there.

You’re not broken.

You’re experiencing the game the way most golfers do — but rarely admit.

WHAT WE WORK ON…

 What we work on

  • Building psychological flexibility

  • Confidence under pressure

  • Playing more freely without adding effort

  • Reconnecting with enjoyment

  • Reducing performance anxiety

  • Responding differently to frustration

This is not swing coaching.

It’s about how you relate to the game.

WHY THIS IS DIFFERENT

Most golf coaching — including traditional “mental game” coaching — is designed for competitive or low-handicap players seeking a performance edge.

This work is designed for recreational golfers who want to enjoy the game again.

Grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) and health coaching principles, this approach helps you change your relationship with pressure rather than trying to eliminate it.

Feel better first.
Play better as a result.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Most mental game coaching is built for competitive or low-handicap players seeking a performance edge. It often focuses on techniques like visualisation or focus drills.

This work is different. It’s designed for recreational golfers who feel pressure, frustration, or quiet shame around their game. Rather than adding techniques, we change your relationship with those experiences so they stop running the show.

  • No. This is coaching, not therapy.

My approach is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and health coaching principles, but we focus specifically on your experience of golf. If deeper clinical issues arise, I’ll be honest about that and point you in the right direction.

  • Sessions are typically 60 minutes.

Most of the work happens during rounds you’re already playing — there’s no extra practice requirement or heavy homework structure.

Many clients notice a shift early on, with lasting change typically taking place over 4–8 sessions.

  • It’s simply a discussion about your golf and what isn’t working.

We’ll explore what you want from the game and whether this approach is a good fit.
